1996 International BurnsFestival
Traditionally "Burns' Suppers" are held throughout Scotland onor near 25th January to celebrate Robert Burns' birthday.
During 1996, two hundred years after his death, Scotland is to celebratethe life and works Robert Burns in poetry, song and entertainment.
The Burns International Festival will start with birthday celebrations inJanuary, continue from May though to October, with a finale season in December,closing with a Hogmanay party and fireworks. There will be major concertsfrom international stars and the best popular entertainers and events stagedby Scotland's leading arts organisations will add an extra dimension.
